This section is out-of-universe. Each page here takes one unsettled worldbuilding decision and lays out what bears on it: what canon has already committed to, what the arithmetic forces, what is genuinely free, and what each available answer costs downstream.
These pages do not settle anything. They exist so that a decision, when it is made, is made once and made knowing what it touches.
Relationship to the other structures#
Three places hold open questions, and they hold different things:
| Where | What it holds |
|---|---|
The backlog (.claude/memory/project-backlog.md) | One line per pending change, and which decision unblocks it. A queue, not an argument. |
| Craft bundles | Recurring problems of writing this world — what keeps going wrong at the page and what to do about it on purpose. |
| This section | A single worldbuilding decision, argued out. The considerations, not the conclusion. |
A craft bundle may notice that a decision is missing — the spatial-consistency bundle ends on three of them — but it stops at noticing, because the fix for a craft problem is a method and the fix for an open decision is a choice. That choice is the reader’s to make.
When a decision here is settled, the answer graduates into the canon files and the wiki, and the page is left standing with the resolution recorded at the top. The reasoning is worth keeping even after the question closes: the next decision in the same area usually inherits half of it.
Current pages#
- How Many Levels Does Coriopolis Have? — the habitat’s vertical structure is undecided, and the living-area figure already in canon implies an answer nobody has ratified.
- Does Human Turning Bias Change the Spin Convention? — resolved. East now runs against the spin and north is the right-hand thumb. Left over is the circulation sense of built loops, which turning bias does decide.
