Lizard Ridge is a ridge in the southern uplands of Coriopolis, within the Southern Park, and one of the best known soaring sites in the habitat.
Its value to pilots is that it generates reliable ridge lift independent of the atmospheric circulation. A glider that has lost height in a bad cell transition can tack back to the ridge, recover altitude in orographic lift, and attempt the crossing again — a maneuver common enough that the ridge functions as the recognized bail-out for the whole southern flying area.
